In cooperation with Al Weckert, book author and organisation developer, the Junfermann-Verlag presents the NVC App. The “Empathy Navigator” helps you improve your skills and awareness when it comes to speaking and listening with empathy.
At the heart of the app is the database with its intuitive user interface. It provides you with terms for feelings and needs, as well as the “Empathy Journal”, which you can analyze using a variety of reports. Various “Business” features assist you in getting prepared for difficult discussions. The “Empathy Reminder” is provided to help you cope with conflicts.

» The Empathy Journal
The “Empathy Journal” records everyday situations in which you reflect your well-being and behavior. What has happened, today or just now? How does that feel? Which needs have been fulfilled, which remain unfulfilled? In this context, do I want to make a request to myself or another person?

» Database Features: Feeling Navigator and Need Navigator
Both database features “Feeling Navigator” and “Need Navigator” allow an associative search for appropriate terms. Just drag-and-drop a search term to the center of your phone’s display and let yourself be inspired by the terms the database associates with your search term. You can save the feelings or needs that match your situation along with the current date and location, and you can link them to additional terms. Using an open text field, you can enter a description of the original situation to which you assign these terms. A text entry form allows you to draft appropriate requests and assign them a time to be executed.

» Body Scan
With the guidance provided by a special menu, you can even “scan” bodily feelings and record them in the Journal.

» Reports
In a separate application area, all Journal entries are consolidated in reports. The report area allows analyzing the most frequent feelings and needs by time and location, separately or in groups.

» Celebration of Life
With the guidance provided by a special menu, the feature “Celebration of Life” invites you to remember special moments of the day that you might want to celebrate.

» Business Zone
The app’s “Business Zone” provides menus of questions that assist you in preparing yourself for discussions and meetings, and in debriefing after the event. The questionnaire results cannot be saved to the database, but the check lists can help you to reach more clarity about your concern and to express yourself forcefully.

» Empathy Reminder
The “Empathy Reminder” brings a lot of fun to the app, and it also provides two useful extra features. If you tend to blow your top frequently, but you’d prefer to react in a calm way, just activate the “Relaxation Mode”. The display goes dark, and slowly the African sun rises above the horizon and giraffes wander across the savanna. In “Reminder Mode”, in short intervals the app displays a discrete message to remind you to communicate with empathy—very important for meetings!

Wonderful!
Very excited & happy to discover this app. I find it easy & fun to use, intuitive and elegantly designed. The mindmap search format is helping me to increase my vocabulary and learn nuances of feelings and needs words. Love the way the journal is linked to summaries so I can be mire aware if patterns in my own behavior! I would have ranked it 5 stars, except many of the feelings/needs words that are in the database do not appear when entered as a search term. Wondering if this is intentional, as a way to help learn to identify the main words first by looking at the list, with the more nuanced words appearing in the mind map? Will revise to 5 stars if this improvement is added to future version! I tried NVC Check-in app but found it clunky and frustrating to use. I was a little apprehensive to download this one, as it had no reviews, but am thrilled to report that I find EN more than worth the $5.99 vs $1.99 Check-in app. LOVE the relaxation video of the giraffes walking across the savannah as the sun rises. Can feel the calm morning energy! VERY much appreciate the thought and time which obviously went into creating this app! It meets too many needs to list!
Great!
I am glad to find journal app. for NVC. Thank you for releasing English version :)
Love this app idea, but is difficult to use. Frustrated
UPDATE: Okay. I found out it was updating me with a notification. But all it said was the name of the app and it had a sentence in another language. So, not very helpful. Would be great if I could change the options for the reminder and especially the text. UPDATE: now the notes I take in journal entries are not saving. This is very frustrating. Also, I would like to be able to add feelings and needs to the list. CONCLUSION: this app REALLY needs a new update guys. Could I get a response please? It would be so nice if this app worked.
